In summer, hiking trails combine lake views with the surrounding mountains, while rowing boats offer a perspective from the water.
Winter walking and snowshoe outings are options when conditions allow. Lake access and activities on the ice are not always possible; check live status before visiting.
The Gasterntal offers a hiking day between the river, valley floor and steep mountain slopes.
Reach your starting point on foot or by seasonal bus. The access road closes in winter, and storms can also restrict access and trails.
The cable car takes you to Allmenalp during its operating season.
Plan a day of mountain views and a hike, for example towards Ueschinental. Choose alpine routes for your experience and fitness; not every trail is an easy stroll.
Sunnbüel opens up a high-alpine landscape, with the historic Gemmi route as one summer hiking option.
Winter has its own walking and snowshoe routes rather than using the same summer paths. Check open trails and cable-car operation for your day out.
Chalet Spatz Garden and Chalet Spatz Loft are separate apartments in Kandersteg. Both have two bedrooms with a double bed and bunk bed. Each apartment page shows its own photographs, access details and full stay information.
Garden is on the ground floor and has its own terrace area with seating in summer. Loft is on the first floor with a private balcony and fireplace, accessed by an outdoor staircase. The loft gallery is reached by a steep ladder and is not a sleeping area. The outdoor sauna is shared by the two apartments.
At Oeschinen Lake, hike or use a rowing boat when the service is open. The Gasterntal offers a separate valley hiking day, while Allmenalp and Sunnbüel open up further alpine routes. Choose trails for your fitness and experience and check current opening.
Sunnbüel and the Oeschinen Lake area offer winter walking and snowshoe outings when conditions allow. Use open winter routes; summer hikes are not automatically accessible. A frozen lake is not permission to walk on it; follow the operator’s current guidance.
Chalet Spatz Loft is described for up to four people and has two bedrooms. Garden’s main facts list four guests, but its house rule says a maximum of three. Until this difference is clarified, we do not recommend Garden for four guests; please contact us before planning. Also check the age and access information for the bunk bed and gallery.
